Coding agents have made shipping faster, so the docs now fall behind faster too. WTFM is a plugin for Claude Code and Codex that writes the guide and the screenshots together. It reads your routes, templates and labels, then writes the steps in plain English. It rebuilds each screen from your own templates and CSS and renders it as a screenshot, so the app never has to run. Every article is checked against your source before it's saved. It's free, Apache 2.0, and uses the Claude Code or Codex subscription you already have. Articles land in your project as Markdown and images. Your code never comes to us. If you want a hosted help centre, you can publish them to SupportPages, the paid product I run, but you never have to.

WTFM FAQ
Is this for API docs or READMEs?+
No, it generates end-user how-to and troubleshooting guides with screenshots, not API references or READMEs.
Why not just ask Claude Code to write the docs?+
Claude Code can write steps, but WTFM adds project analysis, screenshot rendering from your UI code, and validation before saving.
What does it cost?+
WTFM is free and Apache 2.0; you only need your own Claude Code or Codex subscription. The optional wtfm yolo mode uses a free SupportPages.io plan for up to 10 guides.
What stacks does it work with?+
Examples include Elixir, Rails, Angular, SvelteKit, Next.js and terminal apps.
My agent can't see the tools. What should I do?+
Restart any Claude Code or Codex session opened during wtfm setup, or run `wtfm doctor` for diagnostics.
