Hi DevHunt 👋 I'm one of the makers of MarkAny. It converts files to Markdown and back: drop in a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, HTML, EPUB or an image, check the Markdown in the preview, and download the .md (plus a ZIP of extracted images when there are any). Scans get OCR automatically. Known limits: multi-column layouts, merged table cells and diagrams can still need manual cleanup, and there is no API yet. If you would use this from a script or a pipeline, I'd like to hear which formats matter most to you.

MarkAny is a browser-based converter for getting content out of PDFs, .docx/.xlsx/.pptx files, HTML, EPUB and images and into Markdown, and for exporting Markdown back out to Office formats, PDF, HTML, EPUB or PNG.

Where developers use it:

  • Docs-as-code migrations: convert an old handbook, wiki export or slide deck into .md files you can commit and publish with a static docs site.
  • LLM and RAG prep: turn PDFs and scanned pages into Markdown that keeps section headings and table structure, before chunking them or pasting them into a model's context.
  • Handing docs to non-developers: write in Markdown, then export a DOCX or PDF for readers who will never open a README.

Batches take up to 5 files of 50 MB each, with per-file status and retry. OCR runs automatically on scans. Images found in a document come back in a ZIP next to the .md file.

It is a web app only for now, with no API or CLI. You get 5 free conversions on sign-up; Pro is $9/month or $49/year.
