>log in to commentHey everyone! 👋 🤔 What stops me from working on more projects and managing more agents at once? Tools, and me. 💡 So I built Facade Code: one IDE for you and your AI team. It's a free, MIT-licensed VS Code fork with two modes. 🛠️ Super Engineer: Manage projects, git worktrees and agents in one window. Run native Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity and Muse Code on your own plans. Agents and terminals are first-class, just like files. 👥 Super Team: Set goals and let agents manage agents. They launch, monitor and message each other across vendors, and can even read and type into each other's terminals to help when stuck ("agent use"). 🌈 Why cross-vendor? Models from different vendors have different tastes, so a mixed team covers more angles than one model role-playing every role. 🔀 Mix both modes in one IDE. Everything else is stock VS Code. 🙏 It's still early, and I'd love your feedback! What's your biggest pain point when managing multiple coding agents?
Facade Code is an open-source fork of VS Code where native coding agents from every vendor work as a team on your projects, while you review code and steer any agent in the same window.
- for
- Developers who run several coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Muse Code) across many projects and features at once.

Key features
- Workspace Bar — Every project and feature in one column, each feature a git worktree. Click one and the whole VS Code window switches to it, and you see exactly which agents are working on it.
- First-Class Agents and Terminals — Launch Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity or Muse Code with one click, on your own plans. Agents open in the editor like files.
- Cross-Vendor Agent Teams — Agents from different vendors start, stop and message each other. One agent can even read another's terminal and type into it ("agent use"). Runs over standard terminals and MCP.
- Super Engineer or Super Team — Direct several agents yourself, or set a goal and hand it to a tech lead agent that manages designer, engineer and QA agents.
- Still VS Code, Open Source — A fork of VS Code 1.138 under the MIT license. Your editor, settings, keybindings, .vscode folders and Open VSX extensions work as before.
Use cases
- Building several features in parallel, each in its own git worktree with its own agents
- Working across many repositories from one VS Code window, always knowing which agent works where
- Setting a goal and handing it to a tech lead agent that runs designer, engineer and QA agents
- Having models from different vendors build and review each other's work

Facade Code FAQ
How is it different from an IDE with an AI chat panel?+
Those IDEs come with their own models and billing, and open one project per window. Facade Code runs each vendor's own agent CLI, with the vendor's own harness, on your plans, and puts every project and feature in one window.
How is it different from running agent CLIs in terminals?+
Terminal-based agent tools organize work by chat session, so the plan lives in your head and you still open VS Code to review. In Facade Code, work is organized by project and feature, agents coordinate each other, and the full IDE is in the same window.
Do I need my own AI subscriptions?+
Yes. Facade Code runs the agent CLIs you install and sign in to (Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Muse Code) on your existing plans. It has no models or billing of its own.
Can I use my VS Code extensions?+
Yes. Extensions install from Open VSX. A few proprietary Microsoft extensions, such as Remote Development and C/C++, are licensed only for Microsoft's builds and cannot run in forks.
What platforms are supported?+
macOS (Apple silicon, .dmg), Windows (x64 installer) and Ubuntu (x64 .deb), from the GitHub Releases page.
