Shinkai: Local AI Agents

We built Shinkai because we were frustrated with how complicated AI has become. Everyone talks about AI agents, but try actually building one that does something useful - you're immediately stuck in a maze of APIs, coding frameworks, and platform lock-ins. Meanwhile, we kept seeing people with incredible ideas for AI workflows who just couldn't execute them because they weren't programmers. But what really drove us was realizing that AI agents need to live in the real world - they need to make payments, work with crypto, collaborate with other agents, and operate across different platforms. The existing tools just weren't built for this reality. What makes Shinkai different is that we didn't compromise on either end. You can literally tell it "build me an agent that monitors Twitter sentiment and automatically trades based on what it finds" and it just works. But these aren't toy agents - they have real memory, they can pay for services, they talk to each other, and they integrate with the tools you already use through MCP. We are most proud that we've created something that feels magical to use but is built on solid technical foundations. When someone creates their first multi-agent workflow in minutes and watches these AI agents collaborate to solve a real problem, that's when you know you've hit something special. We've made the future of AI accessible to everyone, not just the people who can code it from scratch.
