Generating PDFs from HTML often requires a server, storage, and verification. pagenull solves that with a simple API: post your HTML and get a PDF plus a signed receipt, all processed in memory and never stored. It’s free for the first 100 PDFs a month. I’d love to hear what you think 🙂

HTML to PDF and screenshot API built on Chromium. Send HTML, a URL or a saved template with JSON, and get the PDF back in the same response. Nothing is stored: documents are rendered in memory, and an hourly check against production proves it (pagenull.dev/proof). Every render comes with an Ed25519-signed receipt anyone can verify. Also: Factur-X/ZUGFeRD e-invoices from JSON, an MCP server for AI agents, and a playground with no sign-up. Hosted in Helsinki, EU sub-processors only. Free for 100 renders a month.

Key features

6 features of pagenull
  • In-memory rendering — Chromium renders HTML to PDF directly in memory, no files are stored.
  • Signed receipt — Each PDF includes an Ed25519-signed receipt that can be independently verified.
  • Template support — Save HTML templates with variables and render them by sending only data.
  • EU-hosted service — Runs on Hetzner in Helsinki with EU-only sub-processors for data protection.
  • API rate limits per plan — Free tier 10 req/min, higher tiers up to 480 req/min per key.
  • Test renders — Send "test": true to get a watermarked PDF that doesn’t count against quota.

pagenull FAQ

Do you store the HTML or PDF on any plan?+

No. All rendering happens in memory and the service never writes documents to disk or a database.

What does the signed receipt prove?+

It cryptographically proves that pagenull generated that exact PDF at a specific time, allowing anyone to verify the file’s integrity.

How can I test renders without consuming quota?+

Include "test": true in the request; you receive a watermarked PDF that is free and useful for CI or staging.

What happens when I exceed my plan’s quota?+

The API returns HTTP 429 quota_exceeded until the next month or until you upgrade; there are no hidden overage charges.

Can I store the generated PDF elsewhere?+

Yes, you can download it directly or use the deliverTo option to upload it to a presigned URL in your own storage.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?+

The Free tier provides 100 renders per month with no credit card, allowing you to try the service before upgrading.
