Dibs On Stuff

Pass the conch around - use Slack or Discord to help developers take turns with staging / testing servers (and more!)

Take turns with stuff using simple Slack and Discord commands. * Take turns with testing/QA servers * Queue up for dev resources * Fairly deal out sales leads or office chores * Any office THING which might have a line... If no one is using the THING, it's yours. Otherwise you join the queue and will get a chat notification once it's your go.

Hi Meg, Yep you've got it. The overwhelming use-case seems to be for devs and testers to take turns with particular servers. Often there will be a number of developers who need to queue up with a server so their QA team can test out their changes. Dibs On Stuff inside of Slack is a pretty easy way to handle that. There definitely is an API - just check out the https://dibsonstuff.com website for all the extra features - there's rather a lot of them. Any other questions feel free to jot them down here or send me an email: q@dibsonstuff.com

So could this be used by devs to cut out some of the back and forth about whose turn it is to use the demo servers? What about handing around single license software? (ethically of course). Is there an API so we can hook it into our CI/CD pipelines?
